Lip Filler

Injectable fillers can be used to plump and add volume to your lips. Lip fillers consist of synthetic hyaluronic acid (HA) which is a natural substance in the body.

You can have as much or as little as you like from 1.1ml. The filler comes in a pre-filled syringe of 1.1ml which is used per client and disposed of after each treatment.

Russian Lips is a technique used to give the lips a flatter, more heart shaped appearance with a very defined cupid’s bow. This technique also gives the top lip more height. The Russian lips technique takes longer as the filler is placed into the lip vertically and gradually lifted each time to create a smooth, uniform finish in order to create a lifted lip effect.

The first few injections may feel like a sharp sting but the lidocaine starts to work immediately and so subsequent injections may be felt a lot less.

The body breaks down the filler over time and so results can last anywhere between 6-18 months depending on factors such as the client’s metabolism rate and age.

Your lips will be swollen and may possibly feel sore and/or bruise. Swelling can take up to two weeks to fully subside. You might get lumps whilst the filler settles into the lips, these can be gently massaged out.

Duck lips happen over time and are a result of over-filling or migration of filler. This typically won’t happen after one session.

As a responsible practitioner I let my client know if I think they need less filler and to wait a while before having another treatment in order to prevent duck lips.
