Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a skin treatment that uses an exfoliating blade to skim dead skin cells and hair from your face.

The results are smoother, brighter and radiant skin. It’s also used to remove “peach fuzz,” the short, soft hairs on your face.

The treatment takes 15 minutes and it is advised to wear SPF to keep skin protected from sunlight.

While both treatments are a method of exfoliation, dermaplaning uses a scalpel to gently scrape off the dead skin cells from the skin and removes vellus hair (peach fuzz). Microdermabrasion sands and suctions dead skin cells which also helps uproot clogged pores.

No – this treatment doesn’t affect the hair follicle. The hair removed is vellus hair which is finer than terminal hair. Vellus hair doesn’t turn into terminal hair after dermaplaning, this only happens during puberty or if there’s a hormonal imbalance.

Every four weeks so that your skin has time to regenerate in-between treatments.

  • No makeup for 24 hours.
  • Wear SPF 30 sunscreen every day for at least two weeks.
  • Avoid sunbeds and swimming pools for 72 hours.
  • Wait 72 hours after treatment for any eyebrow tinting treatment.
